If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.
– Albert Einstein
Hello guys.. I hope everything is going good for you. It’s going good for me as well.

So today I was remembering my childhood times when my mother used to tell me stories everyday to get me to eat my food. While making me eat she used to tell me lot of mythological stories, fairy tales and historical stories as well. I was so mesmerized by the stories that I used to eat my food without any complain. And my mother had to repeat those stories again and again on my request.
The thing is when we read these stories, we always like the endings. It fascinates us that with so much of troubles also the characters get their happy endings. It is always said that the fairy tales always have a happy ending. And we also wish the same for our life.
Eventually when we grow up and face reality of life. We choose to believe that fairy tales are actually made up stories to entertain children. But is it like that though? Is it merely a story to keep the children engaged and happy? Does happy ending really doesn’t occur in real life? Have you ever wondered about this? I guess no. Till day there are a lot of grown up people enjoy Disney movies with fascination, as if it is an escape from reality for two hours of our tedious life. And lot of people just ignore it saying, “It has no reality to it. Its just animated stories.”
Well I think we need a new perspective to this entire topic. I agree, after growing to a certain age and having a reality check, I also thought that okay fairy tales never really come true. Being said though I never really understood those stories. Watching all those fairy movies, Disney movies and Barbie movies too, I was always fascinated by the character’s beauty or charm or the happy endings. I never really paid attention to the moral of those stories.

If we look into each and every story, we can see that the characters have taken lot of courage to change their life and get their happy ending. Like Cinderella would’t have met the prince of her life if she would have denied to take the risk of going to the ball dance. Of course she made a wish and God mother fairy made it possible for her to go to the ball dance in beautiful dress and a pumpkin ride. But what if she never had the guts to make that wish, or what if she was scared to take the risk of going to ball in disguise and returning before midnight. She would have never gotten the happy ending she wanted. But she grabbed the opportunity to live one evening of her life happily and that became her forever after. Same goes for Snow white, Rapunzel, Mulan, Tinker bell, Sleeping Beauty and even Beauty and the Beast. In Beauty and the Beast, if Belle hadn’t showed the courage to free her father and take his place in the Beast’s palace as a hostage, would she have gotten her happy ending. Or would Beast have become a Prince again, if he wouldn’t have accepted his rude behavior and changed it for love? I don’t think so!

Deeper meaning resides in the fairy tales told to me in my childhood than in the truth that is taught by life.
-Friedrich Schiller
People say fairy tales poisons our mind from the reality. I say fairy tales teach us lessons which we ignore in long run of our life. In each and every story, we can see and learn that life is all about taking chances, grabbing opportunities, showing courage and taking risks.
Now a days we watch so much of super hero movies and read comics, and we still ignore the lesson it teaches us. We read this comics and watch this movies as entertainment where as there are lot of hidden lessons behind it. Like taking risk and using our technology for good purpose and serving for the good of human kind and fighting the bad or evil. Isn’t that what is the gist of those movies and stories. But we watch it for the actions and dramas.

What do you take from these stories and what is your perspective on it? Please do share your thoughts in the comment section.
